Meet Justin Effres
Los Angeles Injury Attorney On Your Side
Personal injury attorney, Justin J. Effres, earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2012 and his B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. He has an unequivocal passion for advocacy and serving his clients throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Ventura, and all surrounding counties.
As a first year lawyer he was a proud member of the Bet Tzedek New Leadership Council, which allowed him to provide pro bono legal services to indigent clients in the areas of housing, elder law, employment rights, debtors’ rights and bankruptcy.
Education & Achievements
Justin is a rising star trial lawyer. He tried his first 5 jury trials in just 21 months. One verdict was 10 times the insurance company’s top offer, and another verdict was more than double the insurance company’s top offer. Justin also played an integral role in recent multimillion dollar settlements: $11.25M, $5.75M, $2.015M, and $1.6M.
As a fifth year lawyer, Justin graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College at the Thunderhead Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming. This exclusive, nationally-renowned training program only accepts lawyers who represent human beings and not insurance companies, large corporations, or governmental entities other than legal services or public defenders.
During law school at the University of Southern California (USC), he clerked at Effres & Effres. He also spent a semester externing for the Honorable Barry Russell at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, and a summer doing research for esteemed real estate law professor and textbook author George Lefcoe.
As an undergraduate at the University of California in Berkeley, Justin served as intern and then intern coordinator for the Pretrial Services Division of the Alameda County Superior Court of California, Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse. Pretrial Services facilitates the release of recently arrested criminal defendants on their own recognizance – without posting bail – where it can be shown that they are not a flight risk or a danger to the community.

Dear Steven, I want to thank you for your courtesy and professional handling of my claim. For the lack of better words – Thank you! by B. E.- B.E.

In August of 2015 I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that involved the loss of operation of my dominant arm, as well as a traumatic brain injury. My parents had contacted Effres and associates (they were referred to them by another lawyer for another injury to a relative) and they drove from Agoura Hills down to Pasadena immediately, surveyed the accident scene, and then arrived at the hospital. Over the next two and a half years, Justin Effres and his father Steven Effres, relentlessly pursued this case for me, even when at one point it seemed like there wasn't much that could be done to resolve the situation. I had to go through the typical trial stuff such as meetings, deposition, medical appointments for Effres' firm and for the defense, but Effres did all that he could to make everything doable and smooth as possible for me. My perception of lawyers was certainly changed for the better after working with Justin and his dad, because of their genuine sincerity. They were always available and fully knowledgeable of the questions that my family and I had for them. Despite the case dragging on for over 2 years, they never left me hanging or feeling like the case was going nowhere, because Justin kept searching for answers and kept me updated with everything. All of his hard work paid off in a successful outcome for me. I would hope that nobody NEEDS to have an injury lawyer, but if they did, I would absolutely recommend Effres and Associates in a heartbeat.- E.E.

Dear Steve, I want to Thank You from the bottom of my heart for taking my case & for being my lawyer. You took my case, when other lawyers didn’t think I had a chance. You believed in my case, you believed in yourself & you believed in the system. Your wisdom, experience, knowledge, expertise, focus, dedication, calmness, composure, personality, sincerity & true compassion for my case was felt by me, my family, & the jury. I would not have won my case without you. Because of you, JUSTICE WAS DONE. I could have never imagined, how a person I hardly know, can change another person’s life, as you have helped change mine. You are my guardian angel & my life will never be the same thanks to you. Steve, you are a GREAT LAWYER & SHOULD feel very proud that you have the ability to change a person’s destiny and to touch people’s hearts & emotions in such a positive & emotional way. YOU are my HERO my KNIGHT in shining armor AND I WILL NEVER forget you! I consider myself lucky & blessed that our paths crossed in life. I can only hope that I meet more people in my life as special as you are. Thank you for being who you are, for sharing yourself with others in a way that always makes the world a better place. I'm an attorney. My mom was seriously injured in a slip-and-fall accident. Steve and Justin represented my mom. They did an absolutely fantastic job and obtained a stunning settlement for my mom. And they're both wonderful human beings. They, and their staff, treated my mom with kindness and respect. I cannot sing their praises enough!- R.T

Dear Mr. Effres, Please allow us to make your acquaintance. We are writing at the urging of Mr. Gusa, who shared with us the lovely history behind our receiving a beautiful six-passenger golf cart. As you know, he is a fine man and he was so pleased to win the case, through your legal expertise, so as to provide us with this unexpected gift. We would never have conceived of having such a large golf cart. Now that we have it, we are discovering how very valuable it is for being able to take a group of our distinguished guests all together on a tour around the monastery grounds. Perhaps one day circumstances will be such that you find yourself in Arizona. If so, we would be pleased to invite you on a tour of the monastery! With best regards by X. N.- X.N.

Dear Mr. Effres and Office, It has been almost a year since we accepted the settlement for Jonathan and we wanted to thank you all for your help. We will not forget the empathy you showed us during the stressful time we were going through as a result of Jonathan’s injury. Everyone in the office was always pleasant and helpful. We also recognize the thoroughness with which our case was prepared should it have gone to trial. We won’t hesitate to refer you to our friends should they need an attorney. Jonathan is starting kindergarten next week and has a full-time mom now (since February)! We are all enjoying our new house. Wishing you all the best- M,D & J
